At Fogel, we persistently focus our efforts to protect the environment by reducing our carbon footprint, and we are very proud to have received from The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) the approval for our ambitious near-term science-based targets (SBT’s). We have made a new commitment to further reduce our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 2030 across all emission scopes to accomplish three challenging objectives that will reduce our carbon footprint in alignment with the latest climate science. This is a major milestone that illustrates our drive and commitment to grow sustainably in a world where all stakeholders must put forth their best efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C above average pre-industrial temperature levels.
Fogel is one of the first companies in Central America with SBTi-approved targets in place and is among a select group of pioneer companies in Latin America to have committed to this initiative, in hopes that more companies in the region will adopt GHG commitments that are aligned with climate science.
Science-Based Targets are goals set by businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in alignment with the latest scientific climate studies and which are considered necessary to limit global warming to meet the Paris Agreement goals. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling companies and financial institutions to set their emissions reduction targets so that they are congruent to these global climate objectives.
